RELIGIOUS PAINTINGS
In Western culture, religious paintings are used to represent Biblical stories, personalities, or feelings related to faith.
The studio can reproduce paintings with themes such as the Virgin, Mary Magdalene, the Saints, Christ, the trinity, and angels.
In 2019, I reproduced 11 paintings in the collection of the museum of Verrières-les-Buissons. The goal was to protect the originals by keeping them in a museum and install the copies in the church.
MYTHOLOGY
Mythological paintings are used to portray ancient Greek and Roman myths that influence our culture today.
Many well-known artists painted this theme, such as Caravaggio, Rubens and Botticelli.
In my career, especially in the beginning, I worked often on Francois Boucher, reproducing paintings such as Jupiter and Callisto, Diana Bathing, Venus and Cupid, and The Birth of Venus
ALLEGORY
Allegory is the representation of an abstract idea through concrete subjects. Common ideas represented by allegory in paintings include:
- Victoty, Triumph
- Life, Death
- Various periods of a human life
- Seasons
- Emotions, Feelings
- Peace, War
- Justice, Freedom
- Wealth, Poverty
- Good, Evil
- Art: music, theatre, painting, sculpture..
